Grand Champions Seniors Tour
Believe it or not each and every August Vale do Lobo is taken over by tennis; when the annual Vale do Lobo Grand Champions ATP Seniors Tour event arrives.
This world famous competition has attracted some of the worlds most well known players to centre court at the resort's Tennis Academy.
Regular visitors to Vale Do Lobo will soon begin to recognise some faces with the same people returning each year to compete.
2 years John McEnroe was beaten by then unknown Marcelo Rios, while last year Spaniard Sergi Bruguera took the winner's title - in a competition that featured, for the second time at Vale do Lobo, the legendary Bjorn Borg
Other past champions include John McEnroe, Jeremy Bates, Michael Stich, Jim Courier Bjorn Borg. All of whom have competed (and won) against some worthy opponents including Yannick Noah, Richard Krajicek, Henri Leconte.
In 2007 Caixa Geral de Dep�sitos, The resort's shareholder joined it as a sponsor of this fantastic event.
Whisperings in the tennis circles hint at the possibility of Pedro Fraz�o(Tournament Director) intending bring both Borg and McEnroe back to Vale do Lobo for this years competition!
